We just got back from our trip to Africa early this morning. Tired and feeling a bit wiped out from jet lag and layovers at airports, I wasn't sure I would even post anything for a few days.

I decided to share a photo of one of the gorgeous birds we saw while visiting the Tarangire National Park in Tanzania.

We saw this colorful Lilac-breasted roller while traveling on our one day Safari. This was the first safari Rosie and I have ever been on and we shared it with my daughter Traci and her friend Emma.

It was very cloudy and as you can see, the sky was filled with white clouds. Later on in the day we had a little view of blue skies, but it was mostly overcast for the majority of the morning.

Ron, welcome back from your trip to Africa!
Obviously, you have brought in gems of nature pictures from your trip as this very beautiful picture of a Roller suggests.
As a matter of fact, the cloudy white background makes the bird along with its perch stand out very attractively.
Get rid of the jet-lag and when you are rested enough, reveal the goodies you have brought for us from nature-rich Africa. :)

Amazing details, focus and colors as usual.....Superb image with a beautiful bird. In Europe we find the migratory European roller which has not such impressive colors like this Lilac-breasted roller.

Hi Ron,the backgroud is completely white,but this is the best solution to take a view so bright and sharp on the lovely roller,the colors too are wonderful,this is a great shot,no doubts! Have a nice day and thanks,Luciano
