[Notas - Normas] Nota do Artista
A pair of Mascaerene swallows, Phenina borbonica, building a nest in the hole at left. The bird on the right has nesting material in its beak. At this location, a large rock overhang at the Seven Cascades, there were at least a dozen pairs. According to Cheke and Hume, Lost Land of the Dodo (London 2008) p. 193, they are uncommon on Mauritius and Reunion, more plentiful in Madagascar. My own observations suggest they are more plentiful here that is realized.
Not the best of photos, but the location is not east to scramble to over wet rocks and the air full of spray from the adjacent waterfall, so the chosen camera is a sensible choice on a hike.

Hello Geoffrey,
You got the best POV you could under the circumstances and that is what matters the most. Sounds like you had quite a climb just to capture what you did. Nicely focused and shown in their natural habitat.
