Great Wall Butterfly
|[Notas - Normas] Nota do Artista|
|While having a picnic at the Great Wall (Badaling, outside of Beijing) this little guy landed beside us and indulged me with some nice close-ups.|
Crop, but I didn't like the USM result so I left it alone.
All comments appreciated! (Also, can anyone help with an ID?)

Its a very good capture and its quite rare to find this butterfly as they spend most of their up in trees.
I'm quite certain its a White-letter Hairstreak (Satyrium w-album).
It gets its name from the white letter W shape on the lower wing.
The shot is good, very nice detail and great DOF.
I think the composition would be improved if the subject was a little more off centre.
Good work,well done.

Such a beautiful sot of a Satyrium w-album (Knoch, 1782)!
Also know as White-letter Hairstreak in english.
doesn't exist in Portugal.
Perfect colors and details!~
I think this is not Satyrium w-album(White-letter Hairstreak) but the Blue Spot Hairstreak(Satyrium spini). Belongs to the family of the Lycaenidae and under-family of the THECLINAE!
