A very interesting story HP! It is almost as if the behaviour is an anomaly in a natural process. And yesterday I was doing some reading on this here Palouse I talk about and find one government source saying it is one of the most rare bio-diverse systems in the US...so while these two things appear on the outset to be completely different..(your image/story and my Palouse/Grasslands) they do have some unusual things in common and make for a study in nature and science! THIS is why certain combination of techniques and tools are so important!
I very much appreciate your dedication to my question. My mind is very inquisitive. Not only do I learn techniques and thoughts from others here on TN...I learn to ask. A very important addition to the collection HP! And thank you so much for adding to the informational data! Life can be fun and educational at the same time!

Great shot. Can hardly notice them on the sandy beach. Normally they know your appearance few meters away, guess it is enjoying its meal.

I'm back in Izmir for 2 days and just observing the most recent posts. Sorry I couldn't follow the previous posts and related questions on sand blubbers, the present macro is, though, a perfect study in macro-camouflage and I thank you for that, my friend.
Cheers from Izmir...

The camouflage of the creature is great. Thanks for sharing.
I have still not been able to manage more time to improve on my sparse presence on TN.

A wonderful shot to add to your mini-series. They are so well camouflaged in this scene and still the details are outstanding. Nice dedication to Bob of the inquiring mind.

Now that the 'War of the Crabs' is over, it is a pleasure to see them as they are, HP.
To me, they appear to be made from some fragile material like glass and that is their special beauty.
I'm also surprised they have their eyes on stems.

nice piece of dedication to our dear bob, your series of postings on crb is amazing and this one too is no exception, the details on the sand makes it a nice bg, the earthen color tones looks great, fine pov and well compoed shot,
I am taking break for a couple of weeks and hope to see your good work again when i come back,

Maravilla de colores y texturas Haraprasan. Buenos detalles a pesar de la dificultad de la toma y detalles bien apreciables.

Thanks for visiting and nice words in spite of your pause.
I like your wonderful of this beautiful creature. In my childhood there were many crabs on the seashore. Now we cannot see them at all. Superb sharpness and details of the animal and surroundings. Colour reproduction is so exact and lighting is moderate and pleasant too. My best wishes and TFS.

Your photo impresses me deeply!
Besides the obvious i.e. perfect focus - it is my experience, that these crabs are VERY difficult to photograph. They sense noise very acutely i.e. steps on the ground of approaching enemies, and dash into their lair immediately.(I only have photos of their holes with the spoors of their feet...)
Congratulations on extraordinarily good and rare photo
