Hi Subhayan

That looks like a buff-striped keelback - a fairly common snake in the Indian countryside. They are often found where there is a wetland - including inundated paddy fields.

Hello Subhayan,
Yes, I agree with Mr. Kailas, it is Buffestriped Keelback(amphiesma stolata), young one. You've captured with great reflex. This young one has flat neck and forebody, which is chrecteristic of this snake when alarmed. You might've heard hissing noise if you were close enough!!!!. This is a harmless snake.Not common in hills.
