[Notas - Normas] Nota do Artista
I have posted many pictures of this Common Baron I shot this October. I still have quite a few waiting, so I decided to post another one. One of its wing-tips glows in the sun and the other has gone soft in focus. All the same, here it is.

PS: Nagraj has suggested that this particular specimen is most likely a Himalayan Common Baron, so I would like to go with him. However, since most resources refer to Common Baron even while classifying it as 'Himalayan', I would stick to the note derived from Wikipedia. Thanks, Nagraj!

The Common Baron (Euthalia aconthea garuda),often called simply baron, is a medium-sized nymphalid butterfly native to India and Southeast Asia. It flies with stiff wing beats and often glides. The wing is not flapped very far below the horizontal.

Range

Throughout peninsular India, except in the desert tracts, and the higher ranges of the Himalayas, Assam, Burma, Thailand and extending to the peninsula and Sumatra.

Hello Ram,
A real beauty that somewhat resembles our Duskywing butterflies. I love it's earth toned colors and the uniquely marked patterns in it's wings. I also like the tiny orange tips on the ends of each antenna. Nice sharp detail and just the right exposure.
