[Notas - Normas] Nota do Artista
This year, quite a few White-cheeked Himalayan Bulbuls have migrated to my area in winter. Like Brown-headed Barbet, they too are interested in feeding on the fruit of guava tree in my house compound. I shot this one today afternoon after it had pecked at one fruit already opened up but not finished yet. It looked content with its meal and gave me many shots while it perched on an electric cable. The light within the branches of the tree was dappled and I had to use a higher ISO to get the catch-light in the eye.

The Himalayan Bulbul (Pycnonotus leucogenys) or White-cheeked Bulbul is a species of songbird in the Pycnonotidae family, native to central Asia.

Ecology

The Himalayan Bulbul feeds on insects and other small invertebrates, as well as berries, fruits, seeds, buds and nectar.
Nests are usually built in bushes or low branches and cup-shaped, made of stems, roots and twigs. The female usually lays three eggs, which are incubated for 12 days. The chicks leave the nest when they are 9–11 days old. There may be up to three broods raised per year. During breeding, adults become very territorial.

Hi Ram,
Nicely composed photo with good sharpness, but overexposed and the white balance settings weren't correct as there's cyan overcast on the pic.
Kind regards, László

照的很可愛 如果光線更細膩些會更好看

Hi Ram,

The leaves are framing well the bird. The point of view is showing the details of the White-cheeked Himalayan Bulbu. A good management of the strong light which does not hurt the output of the colours. Have a nice day.

Hello Ram,
Photographing in such harsh lighting is always quite challenging. The bird is actually exposed fairly well, we can see its plumage and facial features very nicely. Just a tad bit more contrast in my opinion would make a world of difference. Any darker and the birds eye would melt into the black face mask and not be visible. The image is sharp and you managed to obtain good catchlight in its eye.
