Hello again :-)
This is a Robberfly, quite large and very hairy.
I think its beautiful. I hope you like it to.
I think we should be able to post larger pictures on TN but we are not allowed to.

Info From Wikipedia.
Laphria, the bee-like robber flies, is a genus described by Johann Wilhelm Meigen in 1803, belonging to the family Asilidae, subfamily Laphriinae.

This genus has an Holarctic ecozone distribution, occurring from the British Isles, across Europe and Asia, to Japan, as well as across the whole North America.

The adults average sizes reach 15–25 millimetres (0.59–0.98 in). These huge robber flies are quite hairy, their body is usually black, while the bee-mimicking abdomen shows black and yellow stripes. They can be encountered from July through September.

They generally prey on insects of various species, including other robber flies, bees, wasps and beetles. Their characteristic mouth allow the species of Laphria to penetrate their sclerotized proboscis in between the elytra of preyed beetles. All the preys are dissolved by special enzymes injected in their bodies, which are then sucked out by the predator.

Thanks for looking.

It is very nice to "see" you here once again. This is a very skillfully taken photograph, with excellent control of DOF, exposure and sharpness. I agree with your sentiments and have said the same thing more than once because the tiny image size is so frustrating - but the site owners are clearly not listening. Your link works just fine if you copy and paste into the browser bar and it is a fine illustration of why the archaic image size limit should be scrapped. I remember when 800x600 was full screen resolution - but I/we have moved on to better technology. TN is rapidly becoming a dinosaur, to be left behind as a paleontological footnote by the more nimble and adaptable birds of the 21st century.

Best wishes, Nigel.

Hello Gert,
Outstanding photo of this very furry looking Robber Fly. I have seen many here in Ohio, but never one as hairy as this particular specimen. Razor sharp focus resulting in excellent detail while colors are true and natural. Your F/11 aperture gave you plenty of DOF and the exposure is perfect. Awesome macro shot!!
