|[Notas - Normas] Nota do Artista|
The hoopoe is a colourful bird found across Afro-Eurasia, notable for its distinctive "crown" of feathers.
The hoopoe was classified in the clade Coraciiformes, which also includes kingfishers, bee-eaters, and rollers.
A close relationship between the hoopoe and the woodhoopoes is also supported by the shared and unique nature of their stapes.
The fossil record of the hoopoes is very incomplete, with the earliest fossil coming from the Quaternary.
It is the only extant member of its family, although some treatments consider some of the subspecies as separate species.

A wonderful photo of a bird that I only saw once while in Israel, but never got a shot of. Nice to view it up close and in such fine detail. Great eye contact with just a tad bit of catchlight. I love their long boldly marked head crest. The exposure is right on the button and your colors are well saturated and natural looking.

Here in South Africa, Hoopoe looks bit brownish; not like European Hoopoe. Well captured with good details and POV. WELL EXPISURE IN SUCH UNFRIENDLY HARSH LIGHT.
Thanks for sharing,
Regards and have a nice WE,
Delightful picture of Hoopoe on the ground. Excellent clarity with catch-light in the eye.
