|[Notas - Normas] Nota do Artista|
|From my backyard:|
I am now trying to catch insects in flight, so far without success but with tons of UNusable shots. This one with the nervous Trichodes apiarius L.; Bee beetle, Bienenwolf, Clairon des abeilles. Cleridae) is still not sharp enough. What I did: I used the tele 540 mm equivalent by hand, 1,5 m distance to object, 1/2000 sec, f/4, 200 ISO, full sunlight and the inbuilt ADI-flash.
I now strive for the following: 1/4000 sec, f/8 and a stronger flash. I'm already on a shopping tour... Please tell me of your experiences on the subject.
Beetle flight has its particular fascination. The hind wings serve as a kind of backside propeller, the spread forewings and the thorax in upright position are pushing the body upwards in the wind and the abdomen may serve as a balancer.
