[Notas - Normas] Nota do Artista
The flower is a Canada Anemone (Anemone canadensis). The common wildflower is easily identified by the circle of coursely toothed, stalkless leaves high on its flower stems. Anemone flowers have no true petals. Instead, the five showy sepals attract pollinating insects. In the western U.S., some tribes attributed mystical powers to Canada anemone and valued its roots as medicine, applied in washes and poultices. Another common name for anemone is windflower. Source: Manitoba Wayside Wildflowers, Linda Kershaw.

Insect: Red and blue checkered beetle.

Technical: I liked the contrast of the red and black insect on the white flower. The beetle has an almost irridescent quality. It was quite windy when this was taken along a roadside.

I love these anemones Cheryl. We have similar called Japanese Anemones here in NZ. (nothing to do with Japan either!) And catching the beetle is a double bonus. It is nice and sharp and stands out well. Well done.

Very nice picture Cheryl! Details and sharpness are great. DOF is good. Nice colors too. TFS
