[Notas - Normas] Nota do Artista
One of the benefits of living at the beach is the access to wildlife. While photographing terns, this osprey came gliding by. This was the first of 4 shots, and it is my favorite. I wish I had seen him a bit sooner, to get a head on shot.

Living in Florida, I tend to take these marvelous birds for granted. This summer in Yellowstone, I was excited to get to watch a big horned sheep give birth, but everyone else was more excited about an osprey nest. I guess it all depends on what you are used to seeing.

Hi Robert
Good timing. Technically the image is not that great, but you have captured a great moment. Thanks.

Nice image, I read somewhere that these were the laziest of the birds of prey, and when not breeding some birds fly less then 6 minutes a day...to the lake, catch a fish, fly to their perch and eat it...then sit there all day until they are hungry again.

Great capture!
Good timing, and good details.

Good shot! You've done very well to capture a shot of the bird and the prey. Although you're right a more head-on shot might have been slightly better you've still managed to let us see the eye of the bird, so I don't think I'll nitpick much on that. For some reason the image doesn't look quite as sharp as I'd expect though - is the original sharp? I keep expecting to hear "bombs away" and see the fish falling ;) Very nicely done, thanks for sharing :-D

Nice shot of a difficult target! Living in Newfoundland I also tend to take Ospreys for granted - I can watch a nest while sitting on my patio! It is quite likely that the birds are migrating between us; "ours" will be packing up and heading South in a couple of weeks but we expect them back on the nest last week in April. They have generally managed to raise two chicks per year in the ten years or so we have watched this nest. They fish in lakes around here and we are occasionally lucky enough to see them get their meal.

Very good shot !
Nice picture with this fish under this bird.
I really like it. Good composition.

Really Cool!
