Spider 1 - Damselfly 0

Days ago I published an image of a Damselfly that finished catching an enormous Hoverfly in relation to the size of the hunter.... it is the denominated Damselfly 1 - Hoverfly 0

Today, I wished to share with You an atypical scene...a Spider of approx 5mm. that has captured a Damselfly of aprox. 30mm.

The spider that I not have can identify even have a amazing mimetic coloration... the color of his body was the same that the grass in where find then, except a series of spot brown on his back.

The Damselfly was evidently a specimen of already known Ischnura, although it is a species of smaller length than those than they appeared until a time ago.

As always... I hope that some of the friend of TN that know the identification of the tiny spider can help me with information on the same.

Great shot of this spider (I don't know the ID either) with such big pray - must be food enough for several days here.

Actually there are some more details in the picture than shown in your post which will be visible if you brighten up the middle tones using the curves in PS. I would have posted a WS to show but I reached my limit for to-day.

Great macro Ricardo.
Very unique picture, with good details and colours.
Agree with Mogens to bright it up.
Very well done.

Good unique shot Ricardo. I tries to lighten it up but I think its better as it is.
Good post

Love these spider with prey captures Ricardo. A unique capture & very noteworthy. The spider is a crab spider, Family Thomisidae, possibly Misumena vatia, not sure. Thanx for posting this!!

nice capture Paul.
Special moment, but the composition is bad :(
Very good post, good work :)

Another good capture,Ricardo,by the spider.Good capture by you too.

Ricardo, I think it belongs to the family Thomisidae (crab spiders). I could not ID the exact species, but I think you could have a look at the flower crab spiders (Thomisus) or grass crab spiders (Runcinia).

The closest genus I found looking like yours, was Misumenops.

Oh yess, this is the type of shot that makes me smile... big time! Fantastic shot!

WOW, whwrw do get all these shot. You seem to notice all these unusual moments. Very well done and Captured with perfect exposure and sharpness.

Amazing shot, thanks for posting

Great rare shot. Well done.

Hi Ricardo,
Final match, and damselfly loses... Very well captured. Bravo.

Hello Ricardo,
A fantastic picture. A scene not normally seen by most of us. Thanks for showing this hunter and hunted. The spider looks like a crab spider to me. This spider seem to have big appetite and very strong to catch an over sized prey.
