Tree frogs are frogs of the family Hylidae. There is large variation within the tree frogs. Many of the arboreal frogs are green in colour, whereas the terrestrial and aquatic species are duller. They mostly feed on insects, however some of the larger species can feed on small vertebrates. Many of the tree frogs are not arboreal, and can be terrestrial or aquatic. The species within the genus Cyclorana are burrowing frogs, sometimes spending many years underground.

The European tree frogs such as Hyla arborea are common in the middle and south of the continent, and range into Asia and the north of Africa. The species become very noisy on the approach of rain, and are sometimes kept in confinement as a kind of barometer.

In North America there are many species of tree frog, including Hyla versicolor, a species of grey treefrog, and Hyla cinerea, the green tree frog. The spring peeper is also widespread in the eastern United States and commonly heard on summer and spring evenings.

The tree toad is a popular name for several of the Hylidae. Hyla versicolor is the changeable tree toad, Trachycephalus lichenatus is the lichened, and T. marmoratus the marbled tree toad.

Hi pankaj,
superbe image, la texture globale est tout à fait imprésionnante.
Le sentiment de nudité est fort, alors que par nature c'est normal.

Hi Pankaj,

Wonderful closeup of this frog. He looks different than any I have seen. Wonderful details and his color shows up so well on the leaf.

This smooth-skinned slightly pinkish tree frog is new for me, Pankaj.
Good perspective from the top, giving a glimpse of one of its sleepy eyes.
The clear BG of a leaf suits the subject.

Hello Pankaj,
this is a great picture. Excellent sharpness, great POV/DOF and details. Great colours, lighting and compositon. Thank you for posting.

Hi Pankaj,

Good picture, well framed. Good close-up details of the frog. I would have tried a higher F-Stop for clearer DOF and more details on the leaf as well.

Hi Pankaj.
I can study the anatomy with help of your picture. Great details, POV and colours. The leaf is so expressive and well reflected, BRAVO. My compliments and TFS.

Hello Pankaj!
Very interesting presentation. Not only because it presents a beauty amphibian species (with very good DOF and contrast), but - or even because, very interesting note. I had no idea that there are tree frogs living under ground! Even if such behaviour is present for a small part of their lifes it is still amazing!
Summarizing: thanks for very interesting presentation!
Best greetings,

Hi Pankaj

A splendid photo of this tree frog!
The pose in which you captured it is really fantastic and seems to be resting or maybe even sleeping :))
The camouflage is very well demonstrated here as well and all the colors and tones in the image are superb and well saturated.
Crispy clear details and spot-on exposure complete this interesting composition.

Bravo and TFS

Hi Pankaj, this is a good shot of this tree frog. I am always amazed at these guys how small they can make themselves appear. They seem to fold in on themselves. This guy being brown is providing good contrast agains the green leaf. You've captured him well providing good detail.

Thanks, John

Hello Pankaj,
A cute little fellow, which you capture with awesome texture!
Impressive colour reproduction, sharp fine details....
The composition is dynamic, with good lines!

Hi Pankaj,
Nice typical pose of resting in Hylidae family. I like composition, maybe a bit centered, but´s only my opinion. Otherwise excellent colours, close up and depth & focus.
