[Notas - Normas] Nota do Artista
The breeding season of impala, also called rutting, begins toward the end of the wet season in May. The entire affair typically lasts approximately three weeks. While young are born after seven months, the mother has the ability to prolong giving birth for an additional month if conditions are harsh. When giving birth a female impala will isolate herself from the herd despite numerous attempts by the male to keep her in his territory. The impala mother will keep the fawn in an isolated spot for a few days or even leave it lying out in hiding for a couple days, weeks, or more before returning to the herd. There the fawn will join a nursery group and will go to its mother only to nurse and when predators are near. Fawns are suckled for 4 to 6 months. Males who mature are forced out of the group and will join bachelor herds.

A well composed portrait of an abundant but often not filmed or photographed species. The detail and sharpness that you display here is great. I like the OOF BG and the DOF that you install in your pic.

I knew what it was before reading its title...and I owe that to you. You are the one who introduced this animal to my expanding world of mammals...and for that I owe you a small debt of thanks...and once more thanks for this reminder...a fine creature head on...very clearly taken and unquestionably a proud animal!

A perfect portrait of this not so rare Impala in fine detail Annick, you've captured an almost perfect symmetry here my friend, if the horn on the left was a little longer then it would be perfect! The multi-color OOF BG enhances the fine composition, TFS and regards,

Hello Annick,
Topp class face-to face portrait of an Impala with excllent sharpness that even shows the small fly above the nose. The curious arrangement of the hair in the ears is interesting: presumably to sharpen the ears against approaching predators.
Thanks for sharing this fine image,

Magnifique portrait avec de belles teintes douces.
Bonne journée.

Gorgeous! A great portrait! - They have huge and beautiful eyes!
And I truly wouldn't liked to be poked with those horns... ;)
Well done!
Cheers, Klaus

Hallo Annick,
Zeer mooi gedetailleerd portret. Maar al te dikwijls rijden we de impala's voorbij op zoek naar zeldzamer wild.

bonjour annick
je prend beaucoup moins de temps pour venir sur TN mais c'est toujours un plaisir de voir de tels portraits.

Hi Annick,
perfect portrait of the animal. Anatomy is well studied. The sharpness is amazing. We can count hairs apart from seeing a fly above nose.
I love these kind of "Animal Portraits", which is becoming very rare.TFS

Hi Annick

Sometimes symmetry is the key, and this is a perfect example!
I love this portrait just the way it is and i don't think what everyone else says, i like this one just as it is here.
The full frontal look of the impala adds a lot of drama to the composition, too while the light falls gently on it, creating only mild shadows - just enough to add a little depth.
Very nice work, my friend!

Ha Annick,

Wat een PERFECTE pasfoto van deze impala.
Prachtige details door de perfecte scherpte
Kleur, POV, DOF en pose van je model is uitstekend

Hi Annick,
I have seen lots of impalas, but never so close. They are always so quick. A lovely portrait, which makes a camera better than mine necessary to get.
Thanks a lot for sharing this excellent photo! Such a lovely animal!
