[Notas - Normas] Nota do Artista
In my previous post I showed you the black-headed race of the Striated Pardalote (Pardalotus striatus melanocephalus ( here)
), this one is the eastern race of the Striated Pardalote (Pardalotus striatus ornatus) and you can clearly see the streaking on the crown and face. This race is a migrant, moving north into subtropical Queensland during winter, then back to south-eastern Australia for the summer. During winter they overlap the range of three other races (there are five distinct races), including the black-headed form. And this one was captured in the same place as my previous post, though we didn’t realise they were tow different races until looking at the shots on the computer. For more general information on this species, please see my previous post.

Hi Chris,

Nice detail and colours with good composition. The background is nicely out of focus with a complementing colour.

Hi Chris
What a good looking and colrful little bird you have here! BG work well with bird, maybe you can crop little bit from top for better composition.

Hi Chris,
another interesting view and species of bird. Good shot and informations about striated pardalote. Good work.

Chris, it is a marvellous capture of this cute bird. I like that two colour patch above the eye of the bird. Its plumage, overall, is very pretty to look at.
The smooth BG suits the subject very well.
And thanks for a precise and informative note too.

Hi Chris!

I bet this bird is very fast and hard to capture :-) Nice catch, main subject is slightly blurred but still looks good. Colorfull and in interesting pose. Blurred BG and twigs are not bad, they're well composed with Striated Pardalote.

Ciao Chris,
bellissima cattura, molto bella la composizione con l'ambientazione fra i rami e l'ottimo OOF BG che esalta il primo piano, buona nitidezza, splendidi i colori.
TFS. Maurizio

Hello Chris,
The characteristics of this race of the Striated Pardelote are well seen here from this side POV in an excellent composition among the bare twigs.
TFS,
Cheers, Ivan

Hi Chris

Interesting you managed to capture 2 similarly looking yet different species of the same genus in such close proximity to one another. These are lovely little birds. I suspect this was probably near to the maximum limit of your 300mm lens although the details still came out quite sufficient to see all the markings and features.

Well done and TFS.
Regards
Loot
