Its been a while since I commented on one of your pictures! It seems like this summer flew by way too fast. At any rate, this is quite the shot. I am always fascinated by bear pictures. The amount of power these animals have is incredible.... I like the POV and the interest the bear is showing here. I think your title is spot on - he definitely can see you! Great work.
BTW, I too hope Rob and others come back and post again. Although I've been away for some time, I've noticed that quite a few regular TN'ers are MIA - that's not that good at all. Hopefully things will get back to normal soon.

I am humbled by your kind words Mr Price. You also are a man of good heart and nature. My wife also passes along her thanks to you and Lucy as well as your father-in-law who was quite gracious.
To make this completely Kosher....the image, Yes I have seen this one a few days before and enjoyed it immensely then as I do still. Your tenacious or perhaps quiet patience seems to be a big part of how you take images. Same as with Rob whom you kindly mention here...I too miss Rob and have forwarded another message as per your concerns as all of ours. We wish you well in your fun journey...and for those who read this after my notes...Rick is supposed to be going down the route in which I have been posting images the last few days...I hope we can make a newly formed landscape photographer...God Speed Rick Price...

You do such a great job. Late in life I am just getting started. Since I live now in Beijing China, wild life has a little different meaning here. Nice picture - it is always, wheather people or animals, nice to get them to make eye contact with the lens. That makes this photo great! David

well I am happy to see that you have posted today and I must say that this is a seriously great looking shot of that silvery grizzly bear. You have made eye contact with him or at least it appears that way and I wonder just how far from you the bear was.The colours and focus and point of view are all up to your usual standards and this photo shows in it's way just the very colour my silver fox kit will have as an adult.I would like to have a chance at photoing this bear as well as that silver fox.Your trip stateside is proving fruitful, for you must surely be seeing some outstanding creatures as you go.I too wish Rob were back with us as I miss his great photos and notes. Thanks for sharing this with us all and for the reasons I mentioned in my reply email and also because this is just too good a photo to not show to an unsuspecting world. Bob

What fun time you are having in the US, Rick!
Thrilled to know you spent some time with Bob & Jane.
The Grizzly bear in your picture is quite impressive. Seems to confident and casual. Great sharp and well composed image.
Have a nice time on your trip!

I have a curiosity: what distance was between you and the bear?? I suppose, quite big...Congratulation for tha picture and for the courage to "shoot" bears with the camera, not with the gun!

Okay I'm a bit excited....
Hi Rick & Lucy
I don't know how you find so many bears and grizzlies. You have captured a nice portrait here Rick. I like the way his dark eyes are gazing right into your lens. He or she is a beauty.

I keep wondering what a grizzly would look like, I've seen it on TV, seen shots of it here on TN, but this is the most aesthetic shot of this animal I've ever seen.
TFS this lovely shot!

Wow! What a nice bear shot. Reminds me of the days I spent out west and in Alaska. It would be nice to repeat those days with a camera at the ready. This one is magnificent. Nice composition too.
