The title refers to the place where the photo is captured. Well not exactly as it's taken near the Oanob dam, close to Rehoboth. Close..at least in terms of Namibian distances. Approx. 10 km. Or kilos, as Namibians used 'kilos' to indicate distances. First I was thinking about weight:-)

Dear reader, I told you more about these two places in the following two uploads Giraffe and Rehoboth.

It's a sunset light photograph captured with a EOS 5D and a L 70-200mm lens, handheld and IS on.

The photo consists more or less out of of four elements: the tree, the rocks, the yellow grasses and the blue sky.
I think you can find these four things throughout Central Namibia. For instance these yellow grasses can be found in Sossusvlei in the Namib desert. You can see them in huge quantities in front of the well known apricot-colored dunes.
About the tree..I've been searching the net and found the 'Tree Atlas of Namibia'> View by species>View by locality...
Unfortunately I couldn't compare as not all the trees were listed with photos.Nevertheless a most interesting site. Guess it must be some kind of Acacia species?

Hi Annick,
I just love this image for its colors and contrast. I feel that you have under utilized the four elements here because I can see some more of these just out of frame which could have been included. tfs.

Hi Annick. I like very much the colours and your use of the light in the picture. Your very low POV has worked so well. The tree stands out so well from the blue sky. well done TFS.

Hi Annick,

What a wonderful combination the four elements are! You saw this through an artist's eye and have composed a most beautiful picture. We look through the rocks and yellow grasses to see the tree against the marvelous blue sky. Picture perfect!
