A new bird species for me.
If you go this area and need a birding guide I recommend Carlos, a birdrder and Canon photogapher who know english very well and the area as well as his own beck yard. His cell# is: 01-528-75783
The clapper rail (Rallus crepitans) is a member of the rail family, Rallidae. The taxonomy for this species is confusing and still being determined. The Ridgway's rail and the mangrove rail have been recently split. Furthermore, some taxonomists consider that the king rail and Aztec rail should be considered within this group, as those birds look similar and the birds are known to interbreed where they share territories.

What a pretty specimen which has been captured perfectly by your lens. It has lovely markings which I'm sure aid it when trying to remain camouflaged from predators. Wonderful eye contact and bright rich color tones. Well done!!
