|[Notas - Normas] Nota do Artista|
|This picture was taken on my school campus in December 2012 when we still had an agricultural farm in one corner with plenty of trees and green cover. Then we built an indoor sports complex there and lost a natural habitat teeming with wild life. I miss it now!|
This is the most frequently seen Kingfisher in north India and is found near water bodies.
Some days ago, a Kingfisher came to the same spot which is now a concrete building and dived into the duck pond we have made next to the building for the benefit of some ducks we keep on campus. It apparently took bath in the pond and then went away.

Kingfishers are always a treat to view, they have such diverse plumages, depending on the country in which they live. This particular species is quite beautiful with its contrasting reddish brown, white and turquoise colors. Sharply focused and displaying excellent detail.

beautiful photo in species...thanks.
Excellent, even funny composition - I love the parallel lines formed by the branch and the body of the kingfisher! :-) Unfortunately the bird was partially in shade, otherwise a very spectacular photo with nice lights and contrast, although, as said above, this pic is sold to the viewers by the compo first of all. Great one!
Kind regards from Ireland, László
THe branch is helping to frame the bird. The point of view is showing the details of the White-throated Kingfisher. The good luminosity is enhancing the beauty of the colours. Have a nice dya.
