Hello friends, another new species of bird for my collection,
of course a captive bird but am impressive bird, between me
and this peacock there was a fence, I brought the lens of my
rugged compact in front of a hole of the fence to make this photo.

1/100s f/4.9 ISO400 18mm (35mm eq:100mm).

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Peafowl

«The peafowl include three species of birds in the
genera Pavo and Afropavo of the Phasianidae family,
the pheasants and their allies. There are two Asiatic
species (the blue or Indian peafowl originally of India
and Sri Lanka and the green peafowl of Myanmar,
Indochina, and Java) and one African species
(the Congo peafowl native only to the Congo Basin).

Male peafowl are known for their piercing call and their
extravagant plumage. The latter is especially prominent
in the Asiatic species, who have an eye-spotted "tail"
or "train" of covert feathers which they display as part
of a courtship ritual. The term peacock is properly reserved
for the male; the female is known as a peahen, and the
immature offspring are sometimes called peachicks.»

Merci.

Asbed

Hi Asbed. The colorful wheel of a peacock is always one of the most beautiful things to watch in the birds world. Great capture of this one,i like the cut and the usual top sharpness, well done! Have a nice day and thanks,Luciano

Hello Asbed,
Beautiful POV of this Peacock. Beautiful coloured feathers. Well captured although DOF isn't such great in my test. But I like this beautiful bird; yes National Bird Of India :-)

But, I don't like captive picture, you know that. But hey, congratulation for a new species in your gallery.
Thanks for sharing,
Regards,
Srikumar

Bonjour Asbed,

Le cadrage serré met l'oiseau en évidence. La prise de vue rapproché permet de voir les détails du Paon. La bonne luminosité embellit les couleurs de l'image. Bonne journée.

Pierre

Hi Asbed,
Captivated bird or not, a good photo, excellent textures on the unique plumage, with conspicuous colors. Probably, composing the peacock's head more into the right third might help to make the composition even more effective, however, a very interesting crop by the way. Spectacular and unique image. Congratulations, also for photographing a species new in your collection.
Kind regards from Ireland, László
