Luc, Great detail & pose - bad table manners! ;-) I got some close-ups of this same bird awhile back when it flew into my picture window & knocked itself silly!! My picture window - the "poor man's" telephoto lens!!! Worked Great!!

Love these sparrows. Pity it is not seen around for a couple of years where I stay at Chennai. I was reading somewhere that the pollution of the city maybe taking a toll on these cute little birdies. Have also heard that the sparrow pairs remain together for life. Nice shot.

tres belle photo,
simple, naturelle, pour le plus grand plaisir de nos yeux..
le brossissement est ideal, la photo est nette, les couleurs naturelles....
en bref c'est du bon travail ;)
Luc, you bring back memories. When I caught a house sparrow I photographed it. It was very difficult to ID. Very nice and soft. Details very well. Is that remnants of food in the mouth?

I like the image a lot. The image is sharp and the DOF excellent.
Thanks for posting

Great capture with good details of a little bird we see plenty of around here. Possibly a slightly higher F-stop would have kept the foot totally within DOF range, too, but that's a minor.
Your problems with identification may be down to the fact that this bird is not native to North America, it's a Eurasian bird. I've heard American bird enthusiasts decry this bird because it will squeeze out native species in some parts of the USA, but around here it's one of the regulars ;-))

What a superb photo. I love how you have captured the texture of the feathers. Well done. Thanks for sharing.
Très jolies posture de cette jeune fille , bien vu ! l'image est bien nette et les couleurs très naturelles , j'aurai juste préférer un format d'image plus large pour libérer un peu son regard...
