[Notas - Normas] Nota do Artista
This post from my 'Date Palm Blossoms' collection is especially for my friend Scott who wanted to see the whole bunch of them after reacting to my first post.

A bunch of blossoms bursts open from the oblong, brown coloured pod which varies in length from 6 inches to nearly 18 inches, depending on the size of the tree. The pod grows vertically between the fronds in early spring. Each tree has a number of these pods. The blossoms grow into light green fruit by mid May and mature into golden dates in the next two months or so.
Dates are an integral part of life in the Middle East. They are consumed as the first intake of nourishment after daylong fasting during the holy month of Ramadan.
I shot this picture at eye level. With the constraints of size on the TN, I had to crop off a bit of the tops. However, the blossoms as they appear as separate bunches on a tree would be clear to those who care to have a look. The compound wall behind the tree is painted in colours not of my choice; I hope to be forgiven for the shabby BG.

Hi Ram,
Thanks for ther overall view! These look great. This gives me a much better perspective overall. I just wish I lived where it was warm enough to see them grow naturally. Thanks again!
