|This is a photo I took on our Trip to the Mojave Desert in California in 1992. |
The Mojave Desert stretches from the wedge-shaped Antelope Valley eastward across the Colorado River. Bordering the Sonoran Colorado Desert and running north to the majestic Sierra Nevada mountain range, the land in between is anything but what we first imagine a desert to be, flat and featureless. I took this photo with my old Pentax K1000. I had such a hard time getting good results with this camera since I had no idea what settings to do what with, there were just too many of them! But I did get quite a few nice shots.

The exposure on the cactus is very good and so is the ttextures. The top left is a bit overexposed and is distracting from the beauty of the cactus. Adobe CS has a nice facility to adjust shadows and highlights, which will be handy in this case.
Thanks for posting
Nice shot showing the cactus with the out of focus picnic bench in the background showing nature alongside mans environment. These plants would be great for very close up pictures of their spikes and texture.
nice shot of this interesting cactus.
